Lauren Person, FNP-C

Lauren is a born and raised Mississippian, having lived in Desoto County for her entire life. She graduated from Desoto Central High School and went on to pursue a career in nursing. In 2012, she graduated cum laude from The University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Following graduation, Lauren obtained a position as a cardiovascular intensive care nurse at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. While working at Methodist University, she was tasked with caring for complex medical patients that were, oftentimes, recovering from open heart surgery. She would spend the next six and a half years working there. Lauren had a yearning in her heart to go further into nursing and in 2018, she graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from Arkansas State University. Lauren graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was awarded the “Top Nurse Practitioner Academic Scholar Award” for the class of 2018. Lauren comes to Bagwell Medical Clinic with 4 years’ experience in primary care and a total of 10 years’ experience in the nursing profession. She has a passion for providing evidence-based care to her patients and educating them on how to take charge of their health. She is well versed in chronic and acute care. Lauren enjoys primary care because it provides her with a setting where she can connect with her patients and be a comfort to them. She is a member of the Mississippi Association of Nurse Practitioners where she enjoys meeting with other colleagues and staying current on the latest advancements in medicine.

Lauren resides in Desoto County with her husband Spence. In her spare time, you can find her spending time with family and friends, working out, playing tennis, or travelling the world with her husband. She is also an active member of Cornerstone Church in Southaven, MS where she enjoys singing on the worship team.
