As such, he served as a Youth Pastor at White Oak Assembly of God Church for one and a half years until he transitioned to completed his first undergraduate degree at Evangel University, an Assembly of God Liberal Arts University in Springfield, MO. He entered the University of MS School of Pharmacy where he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Immediately upon graduation, he enrolled at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, MO. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo, MS, where he had the honor to serve as Chief Resident. He continued to serve North MS Medical Center for six years at its rural hospital located in the Northeast corner of the state in a small city called Iuka. There he had the honor to lead that facility in the capacity of Chief of Staff, Director of the Emergency Department, and with the help of a great team, grew the clinic exponentially from two providers to five over six years’ time. He also received national recognition with NCQA for diabetes management and won top awards for the treatment of diabetes and congestive heart failure inside the NMMC system.
In August of 2013, he joined the Family Medical Clinic of North MS in Southaven, MS, where he had the great honor to continue to grow his clinical and leadership skills. However, feeling a calling to leave the Family Medical Clinic of North MS and a passion to restore a deeper sense of service to his patients, he opened Bagwell Medical Clinic in Senatobia, MS, on September 1, 2017.
